01

Technical first

We talk tech. Sales decks, vendor booths and HR panels you'll find elsewhere.

02

Real inclusion

Students, self-taught, professionals, sysadmins, developers, curious tinkerers: everyone brings something. No certifications or titles required to enter.

03

Non-profit, no personal gain

No one makes money from SalentoSec. No course sales, no lead generation disguised as meetups.

04

Ethics & responsibility

Offensive and defensive security are always studied within the law and with respect for people. No real attacks, no unauthorized targeting, no shortcuts.

05

Territory

Salento is not a backdrop. We want to give voice to who does cybersec here, cross-pollinate with local universities and companies, and bridge with other Italian communities.

06

Open and remixable

Slides, write-ups, talk materials are open. What we learn goes back to who comes after us.

Code of conduct

In SalentoSec spaces — online and in person — harassment, discrimination, offensive language or behaviour that makes anyone uncomfortable are not tolerated. Members commit to:

  • treating people with respect regardless of technical level, gender, age, background;
  • sharing knowledge without gatekeeping, and asking questions without fear of looking "dumb";
  • not using the community for aggressive recruiting or sales;
  • respecting the law: no offensive activity on systems you are not authorized for.
